WoodWick Candles: Enhancing Your Candle-Burning Experience

For the best burn from your WoodWick candles, follow these simple tips. To ensure an even burn, light the wick across the candle instead of only at one end. Don't worry about the wick when it's first lit; the new candle is ready for your initial lighting.

Allow the candle to burn until the wax melts out to the edges of the container, which may take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Even if the flame appears to burn low at times, it will continue to burn. Letting the candle burn for at least 2 or 3 hours will allow the melted wax pool to reach the sides of the jar, optimizing the burn time of the candle.

If you fail to burn your WoodWick candle for the necessary length of time, allowing the melted wax to extend to the sides of the jar, subsequent burnings may cause the wax to tunnel down the center of the jar instead of spreading across.

Maintain the wick at a length of 1/4 inch. If the flame exceeds 1/4 inch in height or if the candle starts to smoke, blow out the candle and let the wax and wick cool down. Then, gently run your fingers across the top of the wick to trim it and remove all wick trimmings before relighting the candle.
